SYNOPSIS

Room For Change follows five young adults from different corners of the world, brought together under one roof to share their dreams, sorrows, successes and failures. The series paints the portrait of a driven and fearless generation that faces every challenge head-on. A generation that wants everything but often pays the price for it in the form of repressed angst, which is ready to explode at any moment. A generation that appears completely free but is, deep down, trapped in relentless performance anxiety, pressured to meet high demands and craving to “be more” because it is constantly challenged by the “better world” that glares through their globally-connected screens.

The five friends exist in a state of joyful denial that manifests itself through jokes – some mean, some playful, most of them self-deprecating. Humour is the common thread of their bond, both uniting them and alienating them from each other. Through it, they can create romantic, magical moments… while always keeping the truth at arm’s length. A way to express love without having to muster enough courage to say the words out loud.

Above all, Room For Change is a celebration of a vibrant generation whose members believe they can change the values of an oppressive society, although they end up as its victims, which is not something they care to admit. It is an homage to young people who dance with constraints, not without missteps. A generation whose heart is in the right place, but never too far from its own reflection. A generation who, by aiming for the impossible, exposes itself to the criticism of its contradictions, but also reaches for an ideal far greater than those who remain consistent in their complacency.
