Social media has revolutionized our public spaces. But while these platforms have democratized speech, they’re also a breeding ground for noxious ideas: misogyny, death threats, calls for deportation… The social networks climate, where trolls thrive, can be toxic. Are Quebeckers particularly unrestrained online? How far can freedom of expression go, with total impunity? Police and courts are groping in the dark.
