SYNOPSIS
Roc Stars was filmed in the depths of the LaRonde, Alexis, and Beaufor gold mines. Because of their low level of mechanisation, these Abitibi sites are very challenging for miners who have to extract the ore by the sweat of their brow and face danger every day. Workers also experience one reality that’s unique to small-scale mines: their livelihood is very vulnerable to fluctuations in the price of gold.
