SYNOPSIS
Quebec has long held a fascination with the 1977 movie Slap Shot. To this day, fans of all ages still delight in the hilarious Québécois-dubbed version and can recite its tremendously funny and vulgar dialogues. From Gaspésie to Pennsylvania, Du hockey propre – Petite histoire d’un film culte explores why Slap Shot perfectly portrays Quebec’s national sport in all its tragicomic brutality. Featuring Yvon Barrette, the goalie in the original film, and the two (real-life) entrepreneurial brothers who, from their merchandising concern in a garage in Granby, Quebec, keep the Chiefs’ legend alive on a global scale.
